In restaurant equipment, silicone has many uses including as a sealant. In addition, as non-toxic material, silicone can be used where contact with food is required and is frequently used in kitchen utensils, oven mitts, matting and more. It's water and heat resistance allow silicone to be used in common foodservice equipment parts such as washers, o-rings, gaskets, tubing and hoses.

Plastic tubing is widely used for its light weight, chemical resistant, non-corrosive properties, and ease of making connections. A tube may also reference a florescent light bulb or a housing of lamps or LEDs.
