A conveyor system is a common piece of mechanical handling equipment that moves materials from one location to another. Conveyors are especially useful in applications involving the transportation of heavy or bulky materials such as dishware and glassware. Conveyor systems allow quick and efficient transportation for a wide variety of materials, which make them very popular in large volume dish washing equipment. Chain conveyors include enclosed tracks, such as those used with continuous pizza, warming, and baking equipment.

Doors are common in restaurant equipment design from refrigerators and freezers, to ovens to ice machines. A door is a hinged or otherwise movable panel that allows access to an enclosure, cabinet, bin, or other cavity or container.  A door assembly comprises the components that work in tandem to allow the door to function properly such as the door set, strike, catch and lock set. Doors may be hinged and swing open and closed, or they may slide within a frame. Very frequently, restaurant equipment doors feature tempered glass windows which allow for visual inspection or merchandising of food and beverage products.

A guard is a device designed or fitted to prevent injury or damage.  Guards in commercial foodservice equipment may include fan guards, splash guards, bread guards, lamp/bulb guards,sneeze guards, kinfe/blade guards and many others.
