An elbow is installed between two lengths of pipe (or tubing) to allow a change of direction, usually a 90° or 45° angle; 22.5° elbows are also available. The ends may be machined for butt welding, threaded (usually female), or socketed. When the ends differ in size, it is known as a reducing (or reducer) elbow.
Hood orifices are responsible for the amount of gas that flows to a burner. The orifice "regulates" or "limits" the transfer of gas by constricting the path through which the gas flows. They are brass fittings that screw into (spud) or onto (hood) gas valves. These orifices will have various hole sizes as as determined by the type of gas in use (either Propane or Natural Gas).
LP is also referred to as liquefied petroleum gas, often shortened to "LP" gas or "LPG". It's an alternative fuel that's a byproduct of natural gas processing and petroleum refining. It's safe, clean, powerful, and reliable.
